Meet Dr. Sidharth Kannan BDS,DMD

Hi, I am Dr. Sidharth Kannan, but the patients I treat call me ‘Dr. Sid’. I was born in India but grew up playing basketball and daydreaming about being an NBA basketball player in Toronto, Canada since the age of 3. I went back to India to acquire a Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree and a wife; My wife, Dr. Shobi, who I am forced to adore is a General Dentist in Ohio. Later, in 2019 I graduated with a Doctor in Dental Medicine (DMD) Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. After graduating from dental school, I pursued a service-based pediatric dental fellowship at The Ohio State College of Dentistry/Nationwide Children’s Hospital. I commenced practicing general dentistry for the next three years with a primary focus on treating children and adolescents, which led me to decide to specialize in the field of pediatric dentistry. I obtained my Pediatric Dental specialization from my Alma Mater, the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2024.

My interests are playing sports, watching sports, talking about sports, and running 26 mile marathons. My favorite basketball player is Lebron James which is fitting as my wife and I got our new home in Akron, OH. We enjoy trying new restaurants, especially Indian and breakfast diners. We are excited to welcome our new golden retriever puppy, Sheldon Cooper, and explore the beautiful trails in Akron. Don’t ask me what my five-year plan is, my wife plans it for me, just like how she decided that I will start my fatherhood as a dog-father.
